I feel like I’m going to writing and working a lot of the holidays! This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful to be working on such a wonderful project. I’m cleaning up and articulating string parts for a score to a new dance piece by Nora Gibson called Vested Souls. The piece won’t be heard until April 2010 at the New Edge Residency at the CEC in West Philadelphia. The second stage of this work will be the recording of the strings next week. I’m excited to have the wonderful violinists Carlos Santiago and Maura Diberardinis and cellist Eve Miller recording with me. The third stage will be arranging and melding the string parts with various electronic elements I have in the mind and syncing the music with the dance videos. I’m also getting music together for Open Light Night this Monday night at Ortlieb’s.
